Central Utah Ballet, a new ballet school in Lehi, Utah, with owner and artistic director Jennie Creer-King, has announced summer intensive programs and camps to help aspiring dancers further their classical ballet skills and training.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

LEHI, UTAH, February 2021—Central Utah Ballet released information about their first season of summer intensive training programs and camps. The advanced and intermediate summer ballet camps are 3- and 4-week programs consisting of 9-20 hours of dancing per week. While Central Utah Ballet has a focus on classical ballet, their year-round pre-professional and intermediate programs as well as the summer intensives also include a number of additional dance varieties including contemporary and flamenco.

Most ballet studios align their schedules with the standard school year, taking a long summer vacation. These summer intensives give dancers an opportunity to continue their training during these summer months so they don’t stymie their progress and training. Central Utah Ballet’s advanced and intermediate summer intensives are designed by Central Utah Ballet owner and artistic director, Jennie Creer-King, who is renowned in the Utah ballet industry for providing high-quality ballet programs with highly-experienced instructors and workshops.

“These programs are crucial to our progressing students’ training,” said Jennie Creer-King. “The students in our intermediate and pre-professional ballet programs take their dance careers very seriously, with many aspiring to scholarships, university dance programs, or even professional ballet companies. It would be a detriment to them not to train for several months in a row, so these summer programs allow them to continue their training during the summer in a targeted, intensive way so they don’t lose any of their skills, techniques, or polish over the summer. It also helps them continue to advance those skills with some phenomenal instructors.”

In addition to the advanced and intermediate summer intensive programs, Central Utah Ballet also offers a lighter children’s summer intensive which consists of 1.5 hours of ballet technique and contemporary training 3 times a week. Central Utah Ballet is also offering Fun Children’s Summer workshops for ages 3-6 that Jennie calls “1.5 hour dance parties” that include a ballet class, snack break, craft project, and a “learn-a-dance” that will be performed for parents at the end of each class.

Registration fees are discounted when students register before May 1 and are free when students pay in full before April 1. More information about these programs may be found at https://centralutahballet.com/summer-programs/.
