Sara began her classical ballet training in the professional program at Utah Regional Ballet under the guidance of Jacqueline P. College. After her apprenticeship, she continued her studies at Classical Ballet Academy with master instructors Jenny Creer-King, Attila Ficzere, and Yi-Qi Cheng. There, she undertook intensive training in both classical and contemporary ballet, performing lead roles in numerous productions, including commissioned works in The Nutcracker.
During her time at Classical Ballet Academy, Sara competed in the Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP), performing variations from Don Quixote and Esmeralda, as well as original contemporary works she choreographed herself. She placed in the top twelve for both classical and contemporary categories. Her talent and dedication earned her scholarships to prestigious summer intensives, including Alonzo King LINES Ballet, the Bolshoi Ballet Academy, and Ririe-Woodbury Dance Company.
Sara pursued further education in ballet and modern dance at Utah Valley University on scholarship, performing both locally and internationally in Scotland and England. She later danced professionally with SALT Contemporary Dance, working with renowned choreographers and gaining valuable insight into the professional dance world.
Over the past decade, Sara has been a principle instructor and director at several respected studios across Utah. She is an accomplished choreographer whose students have received top honors, including the YAGP Hope Award and multiple first-place finishes at regional YAGP competitions. Her students have earned scholarships and placements at esteemed institutions such as San Francisco Conservatory of Dance, Alonzo King LINES Ballet, New York City Ballet, Brigham Young University, University of Utah, and Utah Valley University. Her choreography has been presented at ACDFA, UVU’s Synergy Dance Company, YAGP, and NYCDA.
Currently in her 17th year as Ballet instructor, Sara has directed full-length ballets including Thumbelina, Paquita, and Giselle. She has received extensive mentorship and pedagogical training from Peggy Willis-Aarnio, a leading authority on the Vaganova method.
Sara specializes in classical ballet instruction using a complete, methodical Vaganova-based syllabus that is both scientifically grounded and anatomically informed. Her teaching emphasizes correct turnout, precise placement, and safe technique development, ensuring that students build strong foundations while reducing injury risk. Since adopting this syllabus, she has seen transformative improvement in her students’ technical abilities and artistic expression.
Above all, Sara finds fulfillment in witnessing her students’ passion, discipline, and love for dance flourish under her guidance
