Central Utah Ballet Children’s Summer Workshop supports the development of greater strength,
control, and refinements in class material. This workshop is designed to provide personal
support and help develop wellness and skills that promote growth and confidence in the studio.

Dance Camps
Ages 3-7
CUB Dancers: Pre-Ballet 1, Pre-Ballet 2, Pre-Ballet 3, Ballet 1
Central Utah Ballet Dance Camps introduces children to ballet through creative movement, story
telling, and self expression. Rooted in early childhood education and dance therapy principals
fostering motor skills, spacial awareness, and critical thinking through movement. Ages 5-6
begin to expand into French vocabulary, ballet body positions, center work and connective steps.
Includes: Ballet Class, snack, craft, learning a dance, and parent performance at the end

Guest Faculty
Daniel Ulbricht
New York City Ballet
Daniel Ulbricht was born in St. Petersburg, Florida, and began his dance training at the age of 11 at the Judith Lee Johnson Studio of Dance, studying with Lenny Holmes. He also studied at Les Jeunes Danseurs with Javier Dubraq and attended the Chautauqua Summer Dance Program, training with Jean Pierre Bonnefoux and Patricia McBride. In 1999, Mr. Ulbricht was invited by the School of American Ballet (SAB), the official school of New York City Ballet, to continue his training during their Winter Program. As a student at SAB, Mr. Ulbricht performed with New York City Ballet as a Jester in Peter Martins’ The Sleeping Beauty. In December 2000, he became an apprentice with New York City Ballet and in November 2001 he joined the Company as a member of the corps de ballet. In January 2005, Mr. Ulbricht was promoted to the rank of soloist and principal dancer in May 2007.
Danielle Diniz
Danielle Diniz is a dancer and choreographer based in New York City. Danielle recently completed her time as Artist in Residence at Tribeca BMCC via CUNY Dance Initiative for the 2022/2023 season, fully choreographing and directing her own evening of repertory. This past spring she choreographed ‘My Way’ at Theatre by the Sea and became Associate Artistic Director of Jazz Choreography Enterprises. She is choreographing for the Ailey BFA program and New York Dance Project this fall as well as St. Paul’s ballet program in the winter of 2024 and Ballet Hartford in the spring. She has been commissioned to create new works for Jacob’s Pillow, Performance Santa Fe, Avant Chamber Ballet, Columbia Ballet Collaborative, Stars of American Ballet, Ballet Hartford, Woman in Motion, Ballet Excel Ohio, Central Utah Ballet, Earl Mosley’s Diversity of Dance and the Jamaica Center for Arts and Learning. She was a featured choreographer for DanceBreak (musical theater’s leading platform for upcoming Broadway choreographers), made her Off-Broadway choreographic debut at the AMT Theatre with ‘An Unbalanced Mind,’ presented work at the McCallum Theatre/Palm Desert Choreography Festival and the New York Theatre Barn Choreography Lab held at Baryshnikov Arts Center and was awarded a grant from the New York Foundation for the Arts/City Artist Corps to present a full evening of her choreography. She is a winner of the New York Dance Project Choreography Competition, a junior board member of Jazz Choreography Enterprises and a choreographic mentor for We Are Queens. She also choreographed the AEA production of the Vaudevillian musical ‘On the Air,’ currently choreographs and assistant directs intermittent musical theater showcases at The American Musical and Dramatic Academy and has served as Associate Choreographer for Lorin Latarro. She is on faculty at Kanyok Arts Initiative and Manhattan Youth Ballet and also enjoys teaching for Steps on Broadway, Mark Morris and Peridance. Danielle has a B.A. in English (concentration in Shakespearean Studies, minor in Dance) from Cornell University.
Stefanie Spiece
Ballet Hispanico
Stefanie Spiece was raised in Orem, Utah where she attended her first ballet class at the age of 20. Stefanie graduated from Utah Valley University (UVU) with a BFA in Ballet before moving to New York City to begin her professional dance career with BHdos. Stefanie’s performance experience includes BHdos, FJK Dance, Calpulli Mexican Dance Company, Born Dancing Inc., Repertory Ballet Ensemble, and guest artist appearances with Utah Metropolitan Ballet. With her diverse dance background, she has had the opportunity to tour around the world, including the White House for President Barack Obama. Stefanie’s late start in dance has been featured in articles and videos published by Dance Spirit and Pointe Magazine. In 2021, Stefanie returned to UVU as a faculty member teaching the ballet classes through which she first discovered her passion for dance. Stefanie also spent two years teaching all ages at Ballet West Academy in Utah. Stefanie’s love for dance and her students continues to grow each year.
Laura Kaufman
Women in Motion
Laura Kaufman grew up in Overland Park, Kansas and received a BFA in Dance from the University of Arizona. She recently performed in the production of Sugar Hill Nutcracker directed and choreographed by Joshua Bergasse and is currently dancing at TheMetropolitan Opera. Laura is co-director of Woman in Motion, a project-based dance company in NYC. Previously she spent a year on the road with the Broadway tour of CATS following a year with the first national tour of An American in Paris. Prior to her time on tour, Laura danced with City Ballet of San Diego followed by Odyssey Dance Theatre in SLC where she performed many principal roles and did two international tours. She has danced works by Christopher Wheeldon, Andy Blankenbuehler, Joshua Bergasse, Caleb Teicher, Lorin Latarro, Alexei Ratmansky, George Balanchine, Martha Graham, Bonnie Story, Derryl Yeager, Betsey Wistrich, Michael Tevlin, Gary Christ, Ann Reinking, and many others. While in Salt Lake City, Laura taught for the Ballet West Academy as well as company class for Odyssey. She currently teaches at BDC, Steps on Broadway, Ballet Arts, and holds her own open classes around the city. Laura is a versatile dancer and teacher and thrives on being immersed in many aspects of the dance world.
Darby Jones
Odyssey Dance Theatre
Darby Jones was born and raised in Highland, Utah. She trained at Center Stage Performing Arts Studio, focusing on ballet, jazz, contemporary, tap, and ballroom. During the summers, she attended Modas Summer Intensive on full scholarship, training under the direction of Duncan Cooper and Layla Amis. In her senior year of high school, Darby was awarded a scholarship to attend Idyllwild Arts Academy, where she furthered her training. Following graduation, she was offered a company position with Odyssey Dance Theatre. During her time with Odyssey, Darby has performed numerous principal roles, including Solimbula, Helena in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Juliet in Romeo and Juliet, and Roxie Hart in Chicago. She also serves as dance captain, a role in which she has enjoyed mentoring fellow company members and supporting their success on stage. Her career highlights include performing alongside MC Hammer, David Osmond, and The Strike, as well as touring with Velocity Dance Convention. In 2021, Darby was honored with the Best of State Individual Dancer award for her contributions to the community and her work with Odyssey Dance Theatre.
