We are excited to announce that Central Utah Ballet is opening in Lehi, Utah, this fall.  We will be offering children’s ballet classes, pre-ballet toddler classes, and a pre-professional training setting for young aspiring students that want to dance professionally or pursue dance in Higher Education.

My entire life has been centered around dance. My mother has said at 3 I was dancing all the time, and she knew she needed to put me in ballet.  I trained locally in Utah and received scholarships and attended the School of American Ballet in New York, Pacific Northwest Ballet School in Seattle, and Joffrey Ballet in New York City.  These experiences helped me realize that I had the potential and talent to pursue dance as a career.

As a young dancer in Utah, I was blessed with amazing instructors that shared not only their talents but also their hearts, and with their love and encouragement, I was able to graduate with a B.F.A. and M.F.A on full scholarships in dance from the University of Utah that resulted in a diverse and beautiful career performing professionally with Ballet West and Oregon Ballet Theatre, and teaching in  professional and private schools as well as directing ballet programs in Higher Education at Brigham Young University and coaching at the School of Dance at the University of Utah.

One of the greatest passions and most fulfilling experiences I have had is directing and operating my own school, Classical Ballet Academy, for over 10 years, later directing, and most recently being appointed Principal of The Barbara Barrington-Jones Ballet West Academy at Thanksgiving Point. It is a great joy to teach children to love the beautiful art of classical ballet and also grow into strong, capable passionate young adults. There is nothing more beautiful than being greeted in the morning by 3-4-year-olds smiling and so happy to be at ballet class and ending the day instructing young aspiring pre-professional dancers who have fine-tuned their skills and are ready to be guided to their next opportunities.

Central Utah Ballet offers pre-ballet and toddler classes for ages 3-6 and a children’s program for young dancers ages 7-12 in which I will be teaching every level.  I feel very strongly about knowing every student and working with each one to develop their talents as I share a wonderful syllabus that I have developed over many years of teaching.
Young students will also be able to perform in informal parent demonstrations as well as live stage performances.

Finally, we have an incredible pre-professional training program that encourages an environment that simulates a University dance program or professional company.  This a company program broken into Junior and Senior Company levels and trains classical technique, pointe and variations, contemporary, repertoire, flamenco, modern, and Pilates Conditioning classes. I am thrilled to teach these talented young artists along side a renowned faculty.

Registration opens June 1. In the meantime, we are inviting people to explore our website centralutahballet.com and fill out our contact form so that we can answer any questions that you might have.
